Alfera's Far From Home Journey

Dakota Badlands Travel Guide...

Hi All,

Well, here we are in the Badlands of North Dakota. They get 6" inches of rain here a year and there is the one time we decided to stay here for the night. We will probably stay here for two days since it is so beautiful. The disabled pass for camping at the National Park here is $5.00 per night. Today was a day to visit shops and things like that. We have seen some sights but, tomorrow, we will go further into the heart of the park and the badlands.

There are a couple of pictures that we took today that we really wanted to share so here they are, please enjoy as we have enjoyed taking them. A postage stamp can do a great deal to change the things that are needed. This is a beautiful place that is a breeding and protected place for ducks, geese and feeding for other animals in the outside of the badlands.

The colors of the rainbow from the brightest orange and reds to the soft blue and the Gray-Blacks of the badlands. There is no end to what this landscape has to offer.

Finally the last picture is one that shows how the land transforms from a beautiful soft green field to a colorful cliff that seems to come out of no place at all just to make one aware of how powerful and beautiful the forces of nature really are.

We hope you have enjoyed our couple of days. We will be going on a horseback ride and some trails tomorrow. Time to see some of nature in the wild.

Take care,
Our best to all,
Don, Karol and the kids
